Recycling At Reremoana School

Our new classroom recycling bins arrived last week! Here's how the system works:
Orange Bin = Soft Plastics
At Reremoana School we recycle all plastic wrap and ziplock bags through the Glad Food Storage Recycling Programme. Children are encouraged to shake any crumbs out their ziplock bags before putting them into the bins.
Grey Bin = Paper
All paper that goes into these bins must be clean (no tissues or food wrap)
Red Bin = Landfill
Everything that goes into these bins will end up in a landfill.
Children are encouraged to take home recyclable items that we cannot manage at school, to pop into their own recycling bins, to avoid them going to the landfill.

Calendar Art Room 13, 2016

Here is our Calendar Art for 2016

We choose the Kandinsky method of painting. He was an influential Ukrainian and Russian painter and art theorist. He is credited with painting one of the first purely abstract works. Born in Moscow, Kandinsky spent his childhood in Odessa, where he graduated at Grekov Odessa Art school. He enrolled at the University of Moscow, studying law and economics. Successful in his profession—he was offered a professorship at the University of Dorpat—Kandinsky began painting studies at the age of 30.

Maximizing Our Learning

We had a fabulous afternoon. Room 4 came over after lunch and we shared and interesting story with them. Room 13 then had the opportunity to choose a buddy to help them draw ideas. These ideas could be from the story or the ideas could be shared by a friend. This was great fun as we learn best by maximizing our learning opportunities.
Thanks for your visit Room 4
