Counties Hockey is offering our students a wonderful opportunity to get to know the game and play some hockey. The earlier the exposure the better. They loved every moment! Here is a photo of our four teams before the challenge started.
This video shows some great hockey skills from Room 13.
Diversity means that there are lots of different kinds of things.
Just as there are lots of different makes of cars, bikes, washing machines, balls or just about anything you can think of, so there is diversity among people.
We all have the same general structure - two legs, two arms, two eyes, etc. but we all look different to each other. *Skin, hair and eyes can be many different colours and shades of colour. *The size and shape of our faces and our bodies are different. *Most amazing of all is that our fingerprints are different to every other person's. *In all the billions of people in the world, each one of us is unique.
We traced our hands and arms, and had the opportunity to show how different we are.

In Room 13 we started sharing what we know or what we think these words in our school’s vision statement mean. Here the students are creating a paper mosaic of the words that will be displayed in the class.
What a fabulous start to the first day of the new school year!
We discussed the importance of making friends and how to be a good friend. Some great "role play" Room 13. We are also very lucky to have this new buddy bench at our school. This will encourage students to make new friends if they feel lonely.
